Shiwei Liu leads a research group at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and is a Principal Investigator at the ELLIS Institute Tübingen. Previously, he was a Royal Society Newton International Fellow at the University of Oxford and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Ph.D. with Cum Laude honors from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2022. His work focuses broadly on the full lifecycle of large foundation models.
